Snowman Frozen foods receives
ISO 22000 certification
Snowman’s cold stores in Nelamangala and Mahadevapura’, Bangalore, along with Cochin and Mumbai – Taloja cold stores  today obtained certification to ISO 22000:2005 standard in

recognition of the Snowman’s  commitment to food  safety management. TUV Germany performed the certification.

It was a sort of premiere in cold chain logistics in India when Snowman’s Cold stores in Bangalore, Mumbai-Taloja and Cochin today achieved the ISO 22000 certification as evidence of the snowmen efficient and well-documented food safety management systems.
It is the first time for any cold chain logistics company in India that a certification to the ISO 22000:2005 standard, which highlights safety throughout the entire supply chain from farm to fork, is issued.
Mr. Ravi Kannan, CEO responsible for sustainable development in Snowman frozen foods Ltd, says in a comment to the certification:
‘As a service provider of food ingredients, product safety has top priority and we find it natural that we’re front runners in this important area.
We constantly strive to improve our safety efforts and we’ve long been awaiting a certification from global standard covering food safety.
‘We have strong focus on safety management and communication up through the supply chain – from suppliers to customers – to ensure the highest possible food safety standard.
The ISO 22000 certification is an important milestone in our year-long effort, and we see it as a clear signal to the world of our stance on food safety.’
Meticulous scrutiny

Prior to the certification, TUV Asia meticulously scrutinised Snowman’s product safety performance, at the cold stores facility in Bangalore, Mumbai-Taloja and Cochin in relation to the overall control and coordination of local and central efforts.

Snowman has truly picked up the gauntlet and made a determined effort to be ISO 2200 pioneer in cold chain logistics in India.

Showing great commitment and collaboration, Snowman has succeeded in achieving the first accredited certification in cold chain logistics services in India.
This is a clear testament to the company’s endeavors in this field

About ISO 2200
  • A global standard launched on 1 September 2005 and recognised by more than 40 countries.
  • The standard is applicable to the entire food chain ranging from primary producers over processing businesses (i.e. dairies, meat processors and bakeries) to retailers. It also applies to ingredient, transport and packaging businesses
  • The standard builds on the internationally recognised HACCP principles (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) and focuses on management’s commitment and communication.
